Icarus

Icarus

The first time he saw her she had moonlight in her hair,

The sun in her eyes,

But something in his gut told him to stay away from her.

Gods do not love mortals,

They seldom interfere,

And one look at her told him she would bring him to the brink.

That he would get too close,

His waxen wings melting right off his back.

He was going to drown.
