I tread new paths...unafraid,

It was delightful but I was seldom scared,

I listened to what my heart had to say,

And I am a Happy and content woman today.

I have risen way above opinions and scrutiny,

I have the power to write my own destiny,

I don't need your consent for all things big and small,

All I might need a loving hand that's all.

I've reached far ahead in the game,

Life is its name,

Yesterday rules were different, 

Today is just not the same.

Life teaches us many lessons,

We all falter, we all learn,
