Hope
Hope
How simple a word it is
Yet the magnitude it has
Like a warm blanket that shields you from the world
Or the love from a mother’s caring embrace
When the days grow old and weary
And your feet become coarse from walking
Everything feels like a endless nightmare
And the scene is bleak and dry
And after walking past mountains
And you yearn for the destination to arrive
And you look up suddenly
To see the sun arise from the clouds from behind the mountains
And illuminate the world
As the rain tinkles as it gently falls down
Washing away the sins, the grime and time
A new chance
To start afresh
The rays of dawn that cuts through the dark canopy of night
And I wonder
I did not go wrong anywhere
Why must I feel so down
When there is nothing to feel sad for
This is one life
I came here for a purpose
And it’s okay for humans to err
Because humans are made of imperfections
But there is beauty in mistakes
It might be dangerous
But I will dare to play with fire
Because you never know unless you never try
And I will hope.
