Holding On Or Letting Go?

Holding On Or Letting Go?

201

The pain of the words you shot at me have pierced a bullet hole in me,

So deep, so primal I dare not to even touch the wound of thee.

'Holding on or letting go?' Is the only question my mind, now asks me.

Um, well. I retort-

Dear Mind,

It is not always so easy to do either of the two- holding on or letting go.

Both are two different notions, encompassing within them branched-off feelings.

So, I choose to do both-

I choose to hold onto the good times, mellow vibes, life lessons, simplicity, peace, contentment, and excitement you armed me with.

And,

I also choose to be selfish, you see.

Because

I choose to let go off;

I choose to let go of all those bullet holes my heart bears,

I choose to let go of all those tears I've shred when I was aloof- with no one near,

I choose to let go of all those days which were meant to be bloom and repair,

But on the contrary, were all gloom and despair.

Holding on or letting go?

I chose both- for 'our' collective good you see,

I became selfish, but, now; see- I ain't younger one of a fish!
