Heaven's Feel
Heaven's Feel
Clouds bedeck the firmament,
As if owls in a parliament,
Spots of white on azure linen,
Oh the beauty, how do I begin?
Unending does run a ladder,
The sight of which does make one gladder,
Rung spaced a pace from rung,
And it is from heavens hung.
Angels climb up, then descend,
Mortals only may comprehend,
Ladder sprouted from the red earth,
Embers below from yon hearth.
Cooler as we ascend further,
Yet the top goes far and farther,
On the way, we meet the saint,
Colors of peace did once he paint.
Next, we find the trusty soldier,
Lean a moment on his shoulder,
Meet up a d
octor saving lives,
Earning boons from Moms and wives.
Next, we find the reticent teacher,
Trailing him the lonely preacher,
Chivalry's dead, then so are you,
Call for good men, find a few.
Yonder spot the blue boy scout,
Proud of deed in will and snout,
As we chat the good Samaritan,
Impress does his frame and baritone.
But atop the lonely ladder,
As the height gets chilly and madder,
Spot a lad of pure innocence,
Who has never aimed for eminence?
And a child shall lead them all,
Heavens tremble should he fall,
Lamb of God we call Emmanuel,
Just stay pure, life needs no manual.
