Growing Up
Growing Up
One day, I'll be a river joining the sea
But for now, I'm a stream falling off the hill
Let me carve my own path, let my spirit be
Before the vast ocean, deprives me of all my will
One day I'll be the winds that push the clouds
But for now, I'm the sweet fragrance of the roses
Let me bring smiles, that go unnoticed in crowds
Before your window of joy, forever closes
One day, my voice will be muzzled by society
But for now, I let my poetry flow steadily
Let them describe the world as I see
Before my thoughts are corrupted slowly
One day I'll be a man, with responsibilities up to my neck
But for now, I'm a boy, with a carefree attitude
Let me live without a plan, shouting from the ship’s deck
Before I sell my soul, for a roof and some food.
