Today, even the farmers are

Relieved of their hard labour

They render while growing food

The useful machines, gadgets apparatus,

Instruments, weapons, science and

Technology have been playing

Dominant part in the modern

Civilization capturing all sectors of life

The grannies who used to soften,

Swinging the babies in their

Arm cradle are still there,

But carrying the sordid burden

Of the old age, trudging the last journey

Either in an asylum or in

The corner of remote country house

The possession of the traditional duty

Of the grannies has been undertaken

By the miraculous mobile which

Sings lullaby, makes the kids

Giggle with cartoons, games, picture

Stories, dances, music, comforts

Quietens them providing ample

Time for modern mummies for

Housekeeping or chatting on whatsup

The changing times bid good

Bye to grannies and

Their sweet smooth lullabies
