God Only Knows
God Only Knows
Gone are the days of quiet family time,
When people used to sit together and dine.
Uncles and aunts, cousins and neighbors,
Friends and family were God’s greatest favor.
Pictures of good times used to hang on the walls,
Portraying the heart-warming love of all.
Houses used to resound with continuous chatter,
The happiness of our people used to matter.
They say technology has helped us smile,
But it is really a curse so vile.
Letters are pariahs, replaced by email,
Social media, the world’s most ironic fail.
Man has never been so lonely before,
Life nowadays has become sore.
Our world will become a tale of lore,
God only knows what’s there in the store.
