Forgotten Face
Forgotten Face
Walking down a tunnel
Of lost forgotten pain,
I am hugging you tight
And warm against my breast.
Treading the gnarled roots of giant oaks,
High up among the branches, hidden in the yellowing leaves,
I thought I saw a withered face, puffed out in a giant mushroom mouth
agape and breathing rainbow clouds.
As the air around thickens with weary sighs -
Sirens wail in screaming streaks of pain.
Red, purple and green streams of death
Slide down the skies in spouts of acid rain.
Walking amidst some fragments of
Dead life, strewn around is desolation drawn
From the deepest caverns of my heart.
Walking down tunnels
Of lost forgotten pain,
I met a faceless face, a lot like mine.
