Flight To Freedom
Flight To Freedom
Like a solitary bird
In a dark blue midnight sky
Glide silently through the clouds
Without a sigh.
Far over the misty mountain peaks
Snow-white
Let your silvery feathers sparkle
Like a diamond-bright,
You look restless
Like someone in distress,
Who is trying to break free
From some duress.
Oblivious to a summer's burn
And a winter's bite
You fly in search of a light
To ease your plight.
You are no savage eagle's prey
Nor any hunter's grub
Fearless, you defied
Every searing summer’s warmth.
You yearn to travel
To the distant mountain heights,
Where happiness prevails
And peace resides.
To soar jubilant in flight
On swift squall winds,
Someday in an azure heaven
You want to alight.
All you wish is
To fly free.
Dive into the clouds, and
Be soul free.
