Fleeting Life Lasting Memories

Every moment we live, 

We are living on the edge, 

On the brink between life and death. 

Every breath we take, 

We may or may not ever have our next.

Every word we utter, 

We may never get a chance to undo it.

Every fight we have, 

We may never be able to make amends. 

So let us live every moment like it's our last, 

May we have the strength of character, 

To utter only kind words, 

Or none at all, 

The graciousness to forgive those who repent, 

The courage to ask for forgiveness when we have wronged, 

The magnanimity to understand there are two sides to every story, 

The spiritual strength to ride through the rough tides, 

And be humble and grounded through the successful times, 

May we live without ego, envy or anger, 

May we have the wisdom to make time for the people we love and those that love us, 

Let us not be so engrossed in our routine, that we don't have time for loved ones, 

Because when we are gone, 

The only thing that remains alive,

Is the memory of how we made someone feel...
