Father

When father 

Holds offspring first time 

In his hands with ecstasy 

And 

Plants first kiss 

On the forehead 

To show immense love, 

From his inner heart 

A voice croons 

And 

The world listens unperturbedly.

Instructing time 

To render him ample opportunity, 

He holds the hands 

To guide his offspring 

Through every passage of life. 

Emulating God, 

He comes as a savior every time 

To save his own creation. 

Teaching the kid the mantra of life, 

Unique love, he peddles whispering

'Don't bother, 

You are the apple of my eyes, 

You are my descendant 

And my future, 

Follow goodness, 

Walk on the right path, 

I am here to remove 

The thorn 

If any that comes in your way.'
