Every Milestone
Every Milestone
As he tread the path,
He glanced back.
A moment early or a bit too late,
But He glanced back.
He did.
The journey was tumultuous,
His thoughts amorphous,
He gleaned through the fog,
Eager for a glimpse at,
His incredible Trek's log.
He glanced back.
He did.
He rode ahead further,
In stride and feather.
Lofty goals and ever once a splendid deed,
Proud, he did.
His very Creed.
A few miles further,
He glanced back.
He did.
A journey so long,
A sojourn ne'er wrong.
A glance at his past,
Was always when a milestone, he passed.
He glanced back.
He did.
To cherish every glimpse,
Of the journey, intense.
His desire fuelled,
Lugging and tugging.
Yet, not once!
Hearken y'all.
Not once has his wish,
Ever turned a teary mush.
He stalled each moment.
Praying vehement.
For a clear vision,
Of the what has gone.
He glanced back.
He did.
Yet all was forgone.
Ne'er a glance, ever a cherishable glimpse.
Yet he walks, for the journey so long.
Someday, he thinks, will come along
'His' legend, shall run, for generations long.
