Dusking Plays
Dusking Plays

The sky seduced the sun
To lie down upon its bed
As the moon shone in its majesty
And humbled the earth in its tread.
The trees danced to the rhythm
Of the winds
That giggled and pranced
To the dusking plays of the night.
Lush came the clouds and
Behind them hid
The stars that blushed against the glances
Of the universe that beheld them
In their sanctity.
The howling and the shrieking
Of the beasts
That fulfill the caverns of hollow eternity-
Sear like butter through my welcome veins
Like alcohol; it clouds my brain.
As I await the hours of the twilight
To witness the most enchanting part of the day-
As the horizon accepts the night in its light
And enacts its dusking plays.
