This day last year

Biting her pen

Struggling to solve problems in physics

And on the back burner of her brain

Dreams kept her flame alive.

So many dreams.

Not all of them came true. Some didn’t. Some did.

In a year’s time, life’s changed her;

With unplanned gifts and many a planned failure.

Her heart’s grown older

But she isn’t a cynic, or skeptical

Or a non-believer.

She’s learned to be patient.

She’s learned to live in the moment.

For “Que sera sera, what will be will be.

The future’s not ours to see.”
