I dreamed I believe,

But of what I cannot recall.

I cannot sort the pieces of the puzzle.

I cannot recall you with details.

I dreamed I believe, I'm sure of it!

“We all dream.” Scientists say. Yet try if I may, I cannot remember my dream.

“That's because you had over a thousand.” Books say.

Over a thousand!? Yet one did not remain, in the folds of my brain.

When I close my eyes to picture,

All I manage to visualize is nothing!

Just a dark, black space.

No vivid, colorful place,

No adventures did I face.

I dreamed I believe, I'm sure I did.

I dreamed. I know I did. Not of bright, beautiful places or adventures,

But I dreamed of this. I dreamed of writing this poem – of wondering if I did dream.
