Drag Queen
Drag Queen
They scoff at me because I wear lipstick
Wear long dresses with sleeves
Change wigs whenever in a mood
To look different, sometimes blonde,
Brunette, red or grey with streaks.
They call me names, quirky, drag queen
Stare at me like I'm not a human being
A freak of society, ashamed to be seen
In public places, refuse my friendship
How little they know within me is trapped
A woman that wants acceptance
Though nature carved me into a man.
How little they know, I'm just one of them
With all the urges of a female though
My anatomy is different.
They hound me day and night,
Employment to me is denied
I cannot on my own survive
Coz I'm different from the norm
They specified, they categorized
Since the beginning of time!
