Don't You Remember
Don't You Remember
How could You forget
everything, oh Krishna
on going to Mathura ?
You forgot to play the
flute and even tending
the cows !
Don't You remember the
eating of clay at Gokula
and stealing of butter
from Gopis' houses with
cowherd boys ?
The pots of butter are full
today, but You forgot to
come to Gokula !
Don't You remember the
taking of butter with sugar
candy prepared by mother
Yashoda everyday, rising
early in the morning ?
She survives only with the
hope that You would come
back, but You forgot to come
and sanctify food by Your
lip's touch !
Don't You remember the
divine dance You used to
perform with Radha while
playing ambrosial music
from Your magic flute
at Madhuban ?
Her thirsty eyes are
searching for You, but You
forgot to come to Madhuban !
Don't You remember the
playing together and sharing
together of food while
attending to the cattle in the
Govardhan Hill with Your
Companions ?
Everyday, at day break, they
all go near the Yamuna
looking on Mathura's way,
but return disappointed at
eventide without You.
