Deep in the sand
Deep in the sand
With the warm glares of the sun
bitting my skin in a blissful burn,
only then, only then
do I feel like I'm beginning to forget my
apprehensions, eyes shut,
I'm lulled by the sound of the ripples crashing on the sand,
the subtle static in the back and the singsong of seagulls in the sky,
a cloud or two from the hazes above.
only then,
do I feel like I'm beginning to breathe?
The saturated whit of salt right on my tongue,
hair plunged deep into the damp grit,
toes curling in the beat of the grainy sand,
only then, only then
do ultimately perceive substantial peace.
