Darling Of The Street
Darling Of The Street
Darling of the Street, Wav! what a beauty
I have been observing her
For quite some time
Since she came in
The Neighbour hood
She was dark in colour
Some where near to a Coal
She looked uneven
With her body protruding
Here and there
Everyone started
Avoiding her
As she was not
One among
The charming girls
Who were Fair and slim
She started working
For the down trodden
And educating the kids
Who could not afford
She used to sit
Under the street lamp
Assisting the kids in the evening
Before she landed
The street was full of thrash
She used to pick patiently
And throw in the street dust bin
There are days when she
Along with the children
Started cleaning the streets.
There were some children
With special needs
In the neighbourhood
Where parents
Used to struggle
To communicate
She used to request
The parents of the special children
To leave them in her home
Over the period
These children started
To laugh and bloom
The old used to get the comfort
For she used to care and chat with them
As time passed by
People felt handicapped
Without her
And some times
Referred her
As Lady Theresa
Of the street
I and many
Fell in love with her
For her thought
Was so fair
And her heart so clean
That she became the darling of the street
