Damaged Souls
Damaged Souls
We must all be damaged souls,
Why else do we fall in love partially, yet whole?
Why else do we yearn to be loved, and yet not love back wholly?
Why else do we survive with the pain of unrequited love?
Falling in love with more damaged souls.
We must all be broken glasses,
Broken when thrown by the undeserving ones,
In return, causing pain, to the undeserving souls,
Why else would we hurt so much that we can no longer hold on?
We are all truly in pain, some more than others,
Some different than others,
Carrying our own burdens,
Hoping to find someone to share our souls with,
And yet scared of being broken or breaking someone,
All over again.
