Crossroad
Crossroad
Stranded on a lonely road,
I strode on to find a crossroad.
Two paths went in different directions,
Which path to take was the looming question.
Whether or not I would be able to reach my goal,
Depended upon the path I left alone.
As I stood and pondered over the situation,
Time flew by, witnessing my desperation.
My indecision fueled my anger,
I could not hold it in any longer;
I was about to put an end to everything,
When suddenly I saw you approaching.
All the cares of the world, rushed out of my mind,
I felt as though I could leave everything behind;
But happiness is usually short-lived,
And I soon realized;
that your presence was merely imagined.
Reality dawned upon me,
Not believing in the things I see,
I cried out for you, expecting to hear your voice,
But you were not there, you had already made your choice.
Dejected and estranged, I fell on the ground,
Drifting away to a place where I can never be found.
