"Hunkered down 

Global shutdown

Street abandoned

Stricken silent 

Behind closed doors 

People living in fear,

Microscopic germ levels the masses

Sends hospitals into a panic.

Isolation to fight a nearly invisible foe 

Masks are worn to curb it's spread

Questions filling every head,

When will we be Free again?


Free to roam skyways and byways 

Free to roam in forests deep,

Free to talk to friends who keep 

Us in their prayers 

Free to forage for food,

Free to work in proximity with others,

Free,

Just Free.


Covid19 changed forever this world.

Every facet of life altered.

Social distancing reminds how 

Much we really Need each other,

Being kept apart to save each life."
