College Days - The Golden Days

As we move from school to college, it’s love at first sight;

You turn into an adult in just one night.

Pure joy of gossip, can you forget? Never;

Your lovely friends, some of them will stay forever.

Young girls all around, it’s a beautiful view;

One of them you think is made just for you.

Some people are bookworms (thankfully just a few),

A study discussion at night ends in “Who’s dating who?”

A long roadside discussion in boys’ hostel (BH),

On the most favourite topic - What’s going on in GH?

Always waited for the fete, in the hostel’s big lawn;

Pure masti from dusk till dawn.

You just have to be a part of sports meet, and need not play there;

As a spectator may have enjoyed more than a player.

A trip to the hills with friends to beat the heat,

Holy dip in the Ganga has its memories so sweet.

Notice of exam dates was like ringing of a danger bell,

Felt like we had been thrown down in hell.

Now as I remember the past with my wife,

I just say, "College days were the happiest of my life."
