Closed Doors

Closed Doors

She gazed at closed doors, and feared what lurked behind.

With great might she fought those monsters that haunted her at night.

She longed for a knighted suit, to fight her fright away.

But again as usual, she failed to slay.

She longed for the doors to open, the air of liberation sweep her face.

To no longer combat with the monsters that scare her inside.

She longed for the candles to burn in her room bright.

She longed for the sky to be painted white.

She longed for the pain to wither away.

But most of all, she longed for freedom one day.
