Childhood Memories

Oh, the first decade of our lives,

Filled with wonder, laughter, and strife,

A time of innocence and joy,

When every new day was a new toy.

We learned to walk, we learned to talk,

We explored the world around us in awe,

We made friends and learned to share,

We discovered the joys of love and care.

As we grew up, we faced new challenges,

Our teen-ages came with their own baggage,

We struggled to fit in and be accepted,

We faced the world with a little more perspective.

But even as we faced these trials,

We looked back on our childhood with smiles,

For nothing compares to the purity,

Of the love and care we received with surety.

We coped with the feelings of growing up,

With the knowledge that we'd always be stuck,

Between the innocence of our past,

And the future that would come at last.

But still we held on to the memories,

Of the carefree days and all their glories,

For they reminded us of a simpler time,

When life was easy and everything was just fine.

So here's to the first ten years of our lives,

And all the memories that still survive,

May we always cherish the joys of youth,
