Carnal Currents
Carnal Currents
Between birth and death,
Substance and ether,
In the captivity of time
Hearts tangle in webs of scented threads.
Even the brute knows love
But finds no hope in it
For pain is the universal malady
To which some capitulate
While others conquer.
Yet, the measure of human value
Lies not in inherent virtue
But more in humanity
And inescapable vulnerabilities found therein.
Do not lose your child within
Even if that child weeping.
