You came like a bright and refreshing ray of sunshine

Into this pitch black lonely life of mine

I was taught blue was the colour of depression

You showed me the ecstatic blue of the expansive ocean

You took my hand in yours when I was truly alone

You touched the deepest depths of my soul with your soothing tone

The world didn't exist when I was snuggled in your arms

That feeling was unreal safe and sound, secure and warm

The sound of your heart beat once rocked me to sleep

The silence now is deafening, makes me want to weep

But you don't exist anymore and I am back to dark dark square one

You were a dream too good to be true, now back to reality I must run

Your absence is a hole in my heart, every moment for you I pine

But all said and done, your loss is greater than mine

For I've only lost someone I love, I can learn to love another

You've lost someone who loves you so deep, it is second only to the love of your mother
