Birth of our freedom

Dear guys, Did you know the birth of our freedom?,

To knew the story, we had to go for 200 years back,

The first seed of freedom was sowed in our soil in 1806,

Vellore sepoys revolted against the British company.

Then the fire of freedom was strengthened by our sepoys,

Through the great Indian rebellion of 1857,

which was a turning point in Indian history,

And it was called as the first war of Indian independence.

The first modern nationalist movement was emerged in 1885,

That was the foundation of the Indian national congress,

It was founded to foster Indian national unity,

And liberated mother india from British colonial rule.

B.G.Tilak was the leader of the struggle before Gandhi's arrival,

He was a staunch supporter of self government, 

Swaraj is my birth right and I shall have it, Which was his famous inspired slogan.

Extremist leader Tilak passed in the year 1920,

After him, Gandhi became the sole leader of freedom struggle, 

He dominated the Indian freedom struggle from 1919 to 1948, 

This period was known as the Gandhian era in Indian history.

Gandhi was one of the most political leaders of India,

Who led the country in the Non co-operation movement in 1922,

Salt Satyagraha was started by him in 1930,

Later, he initiated the Quit India movement in 1942.

The 1945 British general election was very significant,

Luckily, the labour party won the public election,

The Indian independence act was passed in Britain,

By the result, the birth of India as independent nation in 1947. 

Our freedom was not voluntarily given by the British crown,

It was a boon attained through the blood of our martyrs,

Freedom is not just about simply living in our country, 

We should respect the sacrifices by creating a free india.
