Before You Preach
Before You Preach
Can you chant the tales and sing songs
of glory of the ones
that stab your heart?
Can you pick flowers
and string garlands for the one,
whose shirt soaks in your lover's blood?
Do you have the heart to feed
the hungry child out on the street
and not feed your own?
Can you walk miles under the sun
on your wounded feet and
neither cry nor moan?
Can you do it all?
or can you do all but one?
Yet you preach, aloud,
like all your deeds are done;
So you feel closer to God -
but just in verse.
Think; Should you,
at all, feel imperious?
