April Fooled Me

April Fooled Me

A night where skin and hearts were bare

Where we lie and wait as night turned to day

I stared at the rays illuminate your face

Watching you slowly open your eyes

You took my hand and our fingers entwined

You said I was your guy till the end of time

Kinda funny how a memory so warm can turn so cold

And after two years I can’t let go of something so old

It replays constantly in my mind with each passing day

It tears me apart and all I can say to justify the pain

Is at least this lets me know that what we had was real

At least this misery lets me know I can still feel
