An Ode To Husband

Last twenty plus years have been quite a journey

To social recognition from complete anonymity

Today you stand as a strong human being

An icon of resilience and progressive thinking

You embody the inner strength and simplicity

That has ever been your true identity

Together we have climbed many stairs of life

Motivating, inspiring each other, sometimes, a mild strife

We truly understand each others needs

Value and admire each other's desires and deeds

Finding a solution to life’s ups and downs

We remained excited about smiles, not for crowns

Your calm, gentle ways are the real charm

In moments of distress, how beautifully you remain calm

All that you have done is stored in my chest

You have not been only a partner but life’s friend, the best

All that I have needed, you have given me

Heart, love, esteem, trust especially

Not that we have not faced the harshest time

On that black day, we lost the gift prime

When the cruel hands of our fate took our baby away

With that harsh current, you didn’t let me sway

We both were in pain but we never shared

Each other’s sentiments we truly cared

And even then when we didn’t know what to say

Our wisdom, patience, for us, paved a different way

We decided to laugh out everything big or small

Protected each other, build a new world and stood tall

While walking side by side, we shared many blessings

Showered by the great God from the heavens

A decade later a blessing came in our way

When that cute child filled our vacuum in a different way

He was now a new treasure, a bountiful fief

Who added flavors and cheers in our purposeless life

God has been kind enough in many other ways

We grew in our moral character consistently, days after days

Today I am writing my heart in these few lines

You have been a blessing, that is what my life defines

Here I make a vow as a faithful wife should

Will ever stand by you, true to my soul, no falsehood

I will be your strength to the levels words can’t say

As I believe in God, He will for sure guide me away

Today I write to make you know how special you are

In my darkest nights, you are my brightest star

Though we have now new responsibilities, new commitments

But our bonding, our sincerity will bring ideological resultants

Love can do wonders that is what I have realized

Each day new sunshine, a new smile, a new play to be dramatized………
