ACCIDENT
ACCIDENT
In the silent night,
A train chugging away,
travelers dozing peacefully,
Some humming sweetly
to the music, the rhythm
of wheels playing.
Then....
A thunderous noise,
a booming blast,
a spark in the distant woods.
shook all suddenly.
Some coaches derailed,
life running hither and thither fell.
Among the cries, bruised men took torchlights
to search for their dear ones,
to save the injured ones.
Some lives were buried, trapped under the debris,
Shrieking, crying for help.
Mayhem, a pathetic scene,
terror wielding.
None had the courage,
to gather their luggage,
to sort out their belongings.
All were on their way.
To honeymoon Newlyweds,
sick to Hospital beds,
Old ones to their children,
Some youth to their life's destination,
Some to enjoy the vacation.
Aspirants for hunting brides,
Soldiers on duty rides.
Thugs to loot, passer-by.
Daily wagers to seek new homemakers
Some stalwarts to seek adventure.
But fate had sealed their future.
All prayed to the Almighty One.
And God's Love was greater.
Soon help arrived.
They cleared the debris,
saved the lives of many,
yielding food and medicine to all.
The devastation was stalled. With Almighty's blessings
the train was on track,
chugging away peacefully again.
It was a nightmare, indeed.
