A Tale Untold

He waited for years,
Writing verse after verse.
All that she sent was,
A wedding invitation of hers.
Kajal outlined her eyes,
His was filled with tears.
It is indeed the pain of love,
Which is the hardest to bear.
He wept for hours,
Cursing his life.
The girl whom he loved,
Will be someone else's wife.

She took the seven rounds.
He cut his wrist with a blade,
And lay on the ground.
Seven days later,
His father returned home.
Opened his room's door,
To find the corpse,
Lying on the floor.
