A Love Forbidden

They are told their love is forbidden.

That is why they are hidden.

   The misunderstood define what love should be.

   Keeping their colors locked by freedom’s key.

We say we see them.

   What message do our eyes tell?

We say we hear them.

   Do our ears understand their language?

While cold hands push the lovers’ heart down to earth,                                                                             

They are trying to reach for peace that does not hurt.

While telling them Heaven cannot be reached…

The God of their colorful soul will weep.
