A Bitter Truth!

A Bitter Truth!

2 mins 13.5K 2 mins 13.5K

Standing in the middle of the sea,

Fear is the only thing I could feel,

Surrounded by those blood thirsty animals,

Little strange, but this makes me feel normal,

Some goodness still persists they say,

Humanity hasn't lost its way,

Peace isn't just a word in dictionary,

And love! Love isn't yet a word so scary;

But with the pounding heart and heavy eyeballs,

It's hard to say but I have seen straightened walls,

The drowning sun can be so clearly seen,

And we are still sleeping in the darkness of being mean;

Blaming each other is what you and I do,

Dreaming things is what we live up-to,

"Changes" is something everyone is busy talking about,

But the question here is how it can be brought;

Sitting alone by the side of the river,

I felt somebody's presence which made me shiver,

It took few minutes for me to realize,

That within me those blood thirsty animals hide,

They force us to do things that make other scream,

Compels us to snatch somebody's crayons to colour our dreams,

Oh yes! We are called humans with brain,

But the truth is we are puppet of our own vein,

How long can we keep our eyes shut,

How long are we going to act as deaf and dumb,

It's time to fight the animal within us,

Time to free our own self from the curse;

Let us heal the wounds of humanity,

And restore the peace instead of hatred and cruelty,

Let's build a place of tranquility,

With the help of kindness,love and honesty,

It's not always about "our" victory and "our" dreams,

Sometimes happiness comes by helping others achieve

By showing the path to someone who is lost,

Because kindness my dear, is always free of cost,

Power is not in crushing each other,

Instead it lies in unity and embracing one another,

A handful of love with a pinch of forgiveness,

Would stir world into a place of happiness.

Into a place where "happily ever after" would no longer be a myth.
