Even before my lips had touched the ceramic tea cup and my nostrils could take in its aroma,
You were already there!
With the radio playing my favourite tune and our monochrome pictures lying around,
You were there in every cell of blood rushing down my veins.
It had been tipping down since the morning, leaving a dewy petrichor all around,
And there you were!
In the dew drop on the rose petal,
In the brilliant bright colours of the rainbow, and in the warmth that rain had brought in!
And oh those crimson curtains,
They carry your smell,
The one which soothes my soul.
You are very much here, with me.
And though we may never meet, you're still here.
