Soul For Soul

The boy had a football in his hand, the man, a briefcase. The boy came from the left, the man from the right. They bumped into each other. Their souls exchanged.

The boy, with the man's soul, walked into the office. Employees were amused to see a boy in shorts, mud on his cheeks, a football clutched in his hands, board the lift. Before the security guards could stop him, he was in his computer typing out the day's work. Employees gathered around the desk and stared at him. Eight hours later, the boy logged off and left.

The man, with the boy's soul, went into the playground and chased after the ball. Players were stunned to see a person in formal dress score goals after goals. They gathered around him and shook hands. At dusk, the man left.

On their way back home, the boy, with the man's soul, and the man, with the boy's soul, bumped into each other. Their souls exchanged.

The next day when the man, with his own soul, went to the office, he found that employees were eating healthy and had put up morning exercise resolutions in their desk. "Besides work, taking care of your health is important," they said, "we now know."

When the boy, with his own soul, went to the playground, he found the players in clean dresses. They followed conduct during the break and said, "Discipline and cleanliness are important in sports too. We now know."

The next time the man and the boy passed each other, they held on to their souls and winked at each other.
