Mere Akelepan Vali Maggie

If you ask me what is the most important thing in life? I would say self-sufficiency, which by the way, I think I am lacking. 

The worst feeling I have ever had in life was when I could not enjoy my own company. My happiness would depend on my friends. Friends, which over the years I have realized are the most temporary people in life. They change like the seasons. Back when I was in Bombay, one rainy night, at 3 AM in the morning, the sound of thunder petrified me. It rained heavily that night, I was scared and alone. At 5 AM in the morning, the rain stopped and the cool breeze embraced my darkroom. Suddenly I felt hungry and as usual lonely. I missed my college days where I would just hug my best friend and sleep. I remembered how my father used to cook maggie and tea for me and my sister whenever it rained. Nostalgia filled the air, within a few minutes, the bell in my empty stomach rang again and that's when I decided to have my comfort food. Thankfully, I had a pack of maggie at home. 'Kiska rasta dekhe, ae dil, ae saudi, melon hai khamoshi, barson hai tanha,' the famous song by Kishore Da, played on my cell phone while I cooked maggie and tea. I enjoyed that 'me time' I got. However, It was accompanied by old memories. My maggie was cooked by the time, the song on my playlist had shuffled to 'door Kahin jab din dhal jaye,' another masterpiece by Kishore Da. I sat near my window, eating my favorite food, watching the sun fighting with the dark clouds and finally managing to scatter its rays beautifully in the sky. Of course, along with light music playing in the background.
