The Pretty Women

The Pretty Women

She lay on her bed when she was thirty-six years with no pulse and shocked the world.

She battled poverty in childhood.

She battled the abuse in childhood.

She battled marriage at the age of 16.

She fought for her identity, and always had a passion for art propelled with confidence.

She was a singer,

She was a model,

She was an actor,

And she lived in multi-dimensions boring the hefty weight of tag Sex Symbol.

She progressed through complicated relationships by giving the profession a priority.

In an enterprise driven by men, she remained determined by burying the need of pretty woman within her.

She hoped, she meant something for the people, through her entertainment.

But beauty and fame come the price of pain.

Love is divine, but not omnipotent, and she became a maniac

By substituting fame and drugs to find comfort from her of loneliness.

Industry and politics made her a puppet,

with a mental breakdown, she lived as a zombie.

The plot, of her departure, got immersed, and it didn’t hold any value

When she got butchered emotionally ahead of death in search of love.

Fashion happens based on her vogue.

Auction sale happens on her assets.

People gathered her belongings, with a hefty cheque, and uphold her in the gallery

To depict her as art production.

None of the hefty cheques could provide her shoulder when she needed the most.

Real men don’t utilize women as objects.

Real women don’t misuse their freedom and share emotions for currency.

Real artists and fans respect art and artist.

Real followers and well-wishers see the character, past rumors.

There is a script beyond the lights that a rolling camera and print media couldn’t capture.

There is a soul behind the makeup across genders, which suffers in the darkness,

Where hug and affection matters.

People in front of the camera are not commodities with a price tag.

See beyond the lens as we are better than gadgets by possessing a heart.

This poem is a tribute to Marilyn Monroe, Indian actress Silk Smitha and many actors whose life went in chaos.

The life of an actor spreads past their roles on the stage, never judge a character based on-stage performance.
