Footprints
Footprints
I started following his footprints
But stopped at a place where I saw the two were distinct
I could see one of the foot within a shoe
Ahead was the bare footprint unclear in the hue
Didn't know which one to follow
Which one's true and which one's hollow
Deserted with no clue or hint, footprints of the same person but still distinct,
Said true" it's very hard to put your feet in someone else's shoes": especially when that shoe is a bit big for you
But I still fit my feet in those shoes and grinned
Until I realized those shoes were hollow within
The shoes which seemed to be perfect from out now left me in doubt, I realized the shoe soles were missing
And that's why they were hollow within
From dusk to dawn
He might have used them tattered and torn
But still perfect were the shoes I had worn
Finally came to know why footprints were distinct
Imaginary had the shoe sole
The bare one was the real footprint
On the burning sand,
He still walked with all his pride
There were many things he was trying to hide
Polished shoes and laces tied, without sole but still firm in his pride.
