Still Alive

Maybe the darkness

Maybe the light.

I never understood

What kept me dead inside 

But still alive.

Faces always bright

With the hearts,

Some black some white.

Here, there and everywhere

My soul was dying 

But something inside

Kept me still alive.

Dry leaves hanging on the trees

Or leaves unfurled dead on the Earth.

I never understood

Who sacrificed

Because a part of the tree was dead

But the tree was still alive..!!
