Dear Inner Child,

Why were you in such a rush to grow into an adult? In the process, you missed out on the most beautiful phase of your life.  

Playing outside under the sun, plucking mulberries from fruit-laden trees, gorging on them, till stomach rebelled, tongues turned blue stained. Now you know why your skin is so sensitive to the sun. You stayed indoors doing sums. A nerd with no sense of fun.  

Now that you're old and grey, awaken the child in you, it's never too late to make up. Those days can be relived now with your little grandchildren. Get up, toss your hair back, put on your boots, go play in the sand. Your time is running out, enjoy what you left behind.
