When Darkness Calls

"Crow!" I cried out "Crow, don't leave me" running after the carriage Balling my eyes out.

"Dove, wait for me! All come back and protect you." Crow yelled out the window just before the carriage took off into the sky.

"But I'll miss you" I cried to myself. Crow and I are orphans. I never got to meet my parents, I was to young when the fire took place. Luckily I was saved by Crow's family. I was also raised by them until they too passed on. Then it was just Crow and me. But today Crow left me for a boarding school. I was all alone now.

After the carriage was out of sight I went to my tree. It is hallowed out, with all the stuff I would need. Food, shelter, blankets, and two pairs of clothes. The ones I'm wearing and a summer pair. Once I was done crying I got up and ate some jerky, then I went to Crow's side of the tree to sleep. Happy that it still had his scent on it.

In the morning, or should I say night. I got up out of Crow's bed then went into the forest.
