Those Happy Moments...

Those Happy Moments...

That few months I spent after my studies were not that happy as to be remembered for ever. I was away from my home in search of a job in a big city. I felt very home sick several times when I sat in isolation. The food I tasted during those days were quite different than the one I ate, at my home, I felt. But alas, I had to put up with any stuff for survival.

But now, I feel that it was not the food, but the mood in me created the dislike or the reasons for it. It was and is always not good, to remain idle without doing any specific work for long, as the famous saying goes – “An idle man’s mind is the devil’s workshop.” These types of situations had created in me unwanted thoughts and actions without any second thought, which I had to regret subsequently. I wanted to go back to my home, without waiting for any more chances to my luck.

The frustration of being an unemployed youth, when you are in your young twenties, is tremendous, which sometimes lead to thoughtless actions. I too experienced similar situations.

Energy levels remain peak in those years, when you can do wonderful things, provided you are given a chance. I wished I could get a chance soon.

Campus selections were very uncommon even in the professional colleges, in those days. Despite undergoing several written tests, chances of getting interview calls for the job were rather far, but I continued my search vigorously, leaving my pessimistic view in side.

It was at this odd moment on a fine morning, the postman delivered a letter to me. I just opened it and read it fully. To my surprise, it was an appointment letter, advising me join an office at the city area within a week.

I did not wait even for a second thought. I changed my dress immediately and left for the office, where I was supposed to join. As they were badly in need of a person to work, I was allowed to join then and there.

It was a red-letter day for me, which was also a turning point in my life. I still remember the contents of the letter.
