The Shining Stars on the Ceiling - Part I

Pakhi was trying hard to sleep, but sleep was far away from her. Her parents had taken too much effort to decorate her rooms, as per her imagination. Every tiny detail of the room was a reminder of how much her parents loved her. Being an only child and having working parents, it was a struggle to spend quality time with her parents, but they made sure she was tucked in bed by both. She was a God's child, blessed to be born in a lovely family.

She loved everything about her decorated small world; the best part was the ceiling of her room. Because it was a replica of the sky glittered with the stars and the moon. The Stars and moon were not just the decoration item of her room but were her buddies. For her, this was the best time of the day, when she shared every little detail about her day with her buddies, right from what she had in breakfast, lunch, dinner, her school, her friends, everything that happened to her. She never slept without talking to her buddies. Though her buddies never replied to her, they never got bored by her stories.

It is always said you should be careful what you wish for, you never know when the wishes come true. As usual, she shared her daily activities with buddies, she told them how her best friend got a pet ( Dog) on her b’day, and how she had always wished for a dog, however, her parents were reluctant to that idea and it was a strict NO. The next morning when she woke up, she saw there was a cute basket on her table. She rubbed her eyes and moved towards it to check what was in the basket. She was shocked and happy to see what was inside. One cute white puppy was staring at her. Her parents then told her this was an advance birthday gift to her from her uncle. She was ecstatic with her gift but the million-dollar question that was bothering her, was this just the coincidence that yesterday while talking to the stars, she shared about her wish and today it came true or if she had "Wishing Stars" in her room?

She was excited about it but scared too to share it with anyone.

Before jumping the guns, she decided to take another test of her "buddies" to know the truth.

In the night, it was the time to talk to her buddies. She was a bit nervous to talk to them today, however, instead of sharing her usual activities she started on a Thank You note for fulfilling her wish. And in no time, she poured out her heart to them, how happy she was with the gift, felt blessed to have such amazing friends. She remembered there was an old lady who stayed opposite her home. Though being so aged, she stayed alone, and this troubled Pakhi a lot. So today she made a wish if someone could stay with the aunty to take care of her.

She was unable to sleep today, as she wanted to know if the magic would work?
