Once upon a time in a forest there lived a woodcutter. He worked hard to earn his living. Every day he sells wood to raise money. He was very polite, honest and kind-hearted.

One day when he was cutting woods in the forest, he stepped on something. He took it in hand and saw it was a blue shining crystal. It was covered with mud. He poured a little bit of water and wiped it. Suddenly, to his surprise, he magically appeared in a Blue Land. It was the most beautiful place he had ever seen. Everything was beautiful and everything was blue. Trees, fruits, animals, houses and even the Humans were all blue in color.

He decided to stay there and searched for a place where he can sell the blue woods. He finally found the market of the Blue Land and started to sell woods to earn his living. Since he was very polite, honest and also looked different than the people there, he soon became famous in the Blue Land. He even sold woods to the Palace and was liked by the King and Queen.

There was a Fisherman who was next to him who became jealous of his fame and wanted to get him into trouble. The Fisherman became his friend and was waiting for an opportunity to defame him.

One day he went to the palace to sell fish and found the queen’s bracelet and ring. He quietly took them and came and hid it in the Woodcutter’s house.

The next morning the Queen woke up and searched for her bracelet. But it was missing. She rushed to her makeup table and looked everywhere. To her horror, she found her ring was also lost. She called for the guards and asked them to find the lost jewelry immediately.

The guards did what was told. They searched up and down the Blue Land and could not find it. Finally, the guards reached the Woodcutter’s house. They asked about the bracelet and the ring to the Woodcutter. He said he did not know anything. The guards started searching his house and found the bracelet and the ring hidden in his house. They took the jewelry and the Woodcutter to the Queen.

The Queen was furious and asked him why he stole the ring and the bracelet. The woodcutter said that he was innocent and did not steal anything. The Queen knew that the Woodcutter was an honest person. They looked for the list of all the people who came to the palace on the day it was stolen and found the Fisherman had come to the palace. The Fisherman had also gone to the Woodcutter’s house on the same day.

They interrogated the Fisherman. The Fisherman told me that he was innocent and did not know anything about the bracelet and the ring. The Queen was angry and decided to punish both of them.

Just then the Woodcutter who was very kind-hearted decided to save his friend. He accepted to the Queen that it was he who stole the Bracelet and the Ring and he requested the Queen to set the Fisherman free as the Fisherman had a family to take care of.

The Fisherman started feeling very sad about what he had done. He understood how jealousy had made him do a bad thing to a good person.

He confessed to the Queen about the full incident on how he was jealous of the woodcutter and how he took the Queen’s jewelry and hid it in the woodcutter’s house to get him into trouble. He apologized to the woodcutter for being so selfish to a true friend.

The Queen asked the guards to punish the Fisherman for his theft. The woodcutter requested the Queen to forgive the Fisherman for his mistake. The Queen accepted the Woodcutter's request and set the Fisherman free.

The Fisherman ran to the Woodcutter and hugged him and begged for forgiveness. He promised that he will also try to be polite, honest and kindhearted like the woodcutter from that day. They became best friends and lived happily ever after.

Moral: Showing kindness can even transform a bad person to become good at heart.
