The Lady in Green

Once there lived a woman, who loved the colour green. One day a vengeful thief entered her house and murdered her. After a few years, a family shifted to that house. From the night they moved in the youngest child started having nightmares about the lady in green. Every nightmare ended with a date. He told everyone about that. Everyone told him that it was nothing to worry about. As that day came and he started to get anxious. The whole day went on normally until the night fell. The youngest started finding small pieces of green cloth around the house. Everyone gathered for the dinner at the dining table. Suddenly the light went out, the youngest child brought some candles and lighted them. Everything was going exactly like his nightmares. So, he equipped everyone with a weapon and surrounded the table with salt.

He saw something green shining on the floor. It was a green coloured piece of mirror. He went to pick it up. As he was picking it up his father asked him,” What is the name of the lady you keep dreaming about?” A voice from the stairs said in a ghostly tone, “The lady in green”. The youngest saw the lady he had been dreaming about for the past few days in the mirror. The same green dress, the same crooked noes and the same green eyes. The lady started to chase the boy. He started panicking and running. His elder brother tried to stop her but she clawed him and he fell to the ground unconscious. Suddenly, the youngest felt something on his chest. It was a crucifix.

He took it out and shouted at the lady,” With the power of Christ I condemn you back to hell!”. The lady started wailing and vanished. Everyone was safe. His elder brother’s scar had vanished too. He did not know where the crucifix came from but it was no longer there now. Everyone was very afraid and moved out of that house the same night. They packed their bags and sat in their car. The youngest child was sitting on the front seat when he saw his elder brother’s eyes turn green!
