The Empty Pot

Once, there lived a very sharp-minded and clever guru. He had knowledge, greater than the universe. He was also very intuitive. He was one of the greatest teachers in the whole world. Everybody wanted to be his students and gain knowledge like his. Every single parent wanted their children to be his students. But, Guru Ji was also very strict, And couldn't bear teaching many students. He only wanted one single child to be his follower and his student. He wanted to teach everything, to that child. But then who was this lucky child. To whom, the greatest guru of all should give this opportunity.

For This, He decided to take a test, to check, which child is perfect to be his student. Firstly, He announced, that he wanted to see all the children of this village. There was a total of 20 children in his village, but only 4 came in front of him, standing boldly in a queue. Rest all of them were scared to come to in front of the strict guru. So, guru Ji, said, " you 4 passed the test of courage. Now, it's time for another test. Remember, I will choose only one from you 4, to be my student." He gave one seed to each of them and said, "come to me after five months from now, I have given you each a seed. Plant it in a pot, and take good care of it, water it daily, and give it proper sunlight." Telling this, he left immediately in grace. 

The four children were Ram, Ravi, Shlok, and Shikhar. All 4 wanted to be guru Ji's Students. And turned into rivals. After 4 months, the plants of Ram, Ravi, and Shlok grew taller and greener. But on the other side, Shikhar's plant didn't even start to grow. It was still a plain seed in Shikhar's pot. His face frowned disgracefully. The rest three teased and made fun of his gloominess. Shikhar actually took really great care of the plant, but, unfortunately, the seed didn't develop into a plant. After the five months completed they all arrived in Guru Ji's hut. And, there was still no plant in Shikhar's pot. Now He was terrified and really scared, Of Guru Ji. After a few minutes, Guru Ji arrived. He looked at the three plants and the empty pot, and gave away a smile. He announced that only Shikhar has passed the test. Everybody was stunned, including Shikhar. There was a moment of silence for about 5 whole minutes. Then Shikhar finally spoke that how was that possible. the rest three asked astonishingly the same thing. Then Guru Ji, spoke, "This was a test to check your level of honesty, patience, and hope. I gave one seed to each of you, but they were not real seeds. Ram, Ravi, and Shlok, you three replace the seeds, with actual real ones and hence your plants grew taller and greener."

"And Shikhar, you didn't cheat, you honestly came to me with an empty pot. you kept trying and didn't lose hope or your patience. So, Shikhar you will be my only follower And my student. And I will try to teach you everything I can." The rest three boys were outraged.
