The Empty Nest

CHAPTER 1 - The unhappy joy

 

Long long ago there was a magical Kingdom full of fantasies. This kingdom was hidden in the earth so that the humans won't find its presence. The kingdom is visible only to those who belong to the kingdom and those who truly believe in magic. The people living in the kingdom resemble human beings except in one way that is magic. They knew magic. In schools, magic was the main subject. In each and every job and career magic is included. There was no discrimination among the people. Everyone is treated equally. They all were kind-hearted and lived in peace and harmony with their children joyfully. It was ruled by a kind-hearted king and queen who never had children. Though there was joy all around the kingdom, still deep inside the hearts of all people and as well as the king and queen there was a little twinge of sadness of not having an heir to the kingdom.

CHAP 2 - The search

 One day on the advice of the people of the kingdom the king and the queen are convinced to go in search of their heir. As predicted by their ancestors that the heir would be a girl and only she is able to bring a magical creature and an unmakeable fantasy, they invited all the girls from the newborn babies to the old women in their kingdom to test their ability to do magic. But none of them can do those unmakeable things. Still, they continued their search. Another way to test them is that the heir would be able to do the magic with the royal magical wand which was kept on the showcase before the palace. But all those attempts went in vain as nobody could even take the wand as it felt heavier although it was small.

 CHAP 3 - In A Parallel World

 Years rolled by but the king could never find an heir. As the kingdom was very busy in their search hunt, the story shifts to a little human girl who lives on the earth among humans. Naturally, she is very kind hearted. She doesn't have parents. She had lived in an orphanage which is close to a jungle. Nobody ever knew about her birth or parents. 6 years ago the owner of the orphanage struck in midway to the orphanage. She had come out to buy some goods for the orphanage. On her way back there was a huge storm and so she came late. When she was nearing the orphanage, a dim and small light appeared in her vision hanging in the midair. As she came nearer and nearer, slowly the light settled down and touched the ground. The light disappeared and it replaced a small basket. When she opened it, her hands involuntarily went down the basket to soothe the baby which was crying slightly because of the raindrops which made contact with the baby's body here and there. Back to the present, Lily aged 6 was ordered by the owner of the orphanage to fetch some water from the nearby river and some apples for the kids. She is the eldest of all kids in the orphanage. This is because all the kids in the orphanage used to get adopted within the age of 4 except her. Whoever comes to see this girl for adoption rejects her on seeing her eyes. All the kids used to tease her as if she had some magic in her eyes.

"Don't go far, Lily. Be quick dear", said the owner. " Sure aunty!", yelled Lily from the end of her lungs closing the entrance gate. She called the owner affectionately as aunty. As soon as she fetched the water she started plucking apples from the trees with a little difficulty as she is too little to be compared to those high trees. Soon her eyes fell on a stout and rosy apple which was hanging from a medium height branch.Merely looking at it itself made Lily hungry. She jumped a little to catch it. But unfortunately, she slipped a bit and fell into a bunch of bushes which went a little down and pushed her into the deep forest. When she opened her eyes she was astonished to see a magnificent gate before her.

As she touched the gate, it sensed her and automatically opened. The door then closed automatically as Lily entered. Then it vanished in a second to leave an awestruck Lily alone as she was mesmerized to see magic and beauty mixed up the scene.

"Oh My God", she said within herself.

CHAP 4 - The Unmakeable

 Lily was surprised to see a magical world for the first time in her life. She had dreamed of such a world many times. This was like a dream coming true. After exploring a lot around the kingdom such as the bookshelves arranging itself, the dresses wished by the people coming to the people on their own from the shops and the required money for those dresses going automatically inside the shops to the cash register from the people's hands, Lily became more and more anxious to know about magic more. Suddenly her eyes caught a beautiful palace just a few feet away. She immediately went to the palace. There she saw a king and a queen sitting at the entrance as if waiting for someone......

2hrs ago...

Back at the palace the king and the queen were so sad as all their attempts went in vain. All of a sudden a man with a magical wand appeared before them.

"The fate is going to be changed. The empty nest is going to be filled today. The joy of this empty nest is coming. Be prepared to welcome the gift of magic".

Abracadabra.......... HUSHHH... There was a loud bang sound and the man disappeared along with the clouds.

" I think today our child is coming. Come everyone let's go and welcome our heir" said the king.

Back to the present, the king and the queen saw a tiny girl approaching them. As she came near the wand, her hands seemed to be involuntarily taking the wand. Then suddenly the girl smiled and took the wand and started drawing a beautiful creature before them. All of a sudden it came to life.

"I call it a unicorn in my dream. Daily I used to dream of it. Suddenly I thought of drawing. If I have done anything wrong, please forgive me." she said in a pleasing and melodious tone. 

"No dear, u haven't done anything wrong," said the queen which made the girl happy.

" How did u come here child?" asked the king in a curious and happy tone.

"I was fetching apples and water for my orphanage but suddenly I fell into the bushes and when I opened my eyes I saw this fantastic kingdom before me", said the little girl.

All were astonished to hear that she came from the human world.

"Dear child, do u wish to draw any other thing?" Asked the queen.

The girl thought for a while and said yes in an exciting way. Then she drew a beautiful arch on the sky which could be visible to both the human and magical world. She named it rainbow. 🌈 It was filled with seven magnificent colors. 

All are overjoyed to see those two unmakeable things.

 CHAP 5 - Melody filled the nest

  The king then approached the girl and asked, "Will you be our child and a princess to our kingdom?"

The girl was both shocked and happy to hear it.

"Yes......, father" she squealed in delight. 

Never in a billion years neither did she expect to get a family nor the kingdom expected to get a princess.

"What's your name sweetheart," asked the queen "and how old are you, dear," asked the king simultaneously.

"My name is Lily mother and I am 6 years old," she replied happily.

"No child hereafter we name u MELODY and this day will be celebrated as your birthday and as a festival every year" announced the king.

"Do you like your name, child?" asked the queen.

"Yes mother" Melody replied contently

And the kingdom remained happily ever after as their empty nest was filled with their kind princess Melody.
